1. ***Foreign Relations*** How have foreign entanglements influence America?

1.1. WW1

1.1.1. When the US is involved in world affairs to a large extent it is hard to stay neutral if a major conflict breaks out

1.2. WW2- Expansion, when too many countries attempt world domination, it creates mass conflict

1.3. Due to the Great Depression, Americas relationship with other countries were failing because they were protecting themselves

1.4. Vietnam War

1.4.1. Vietnam influenced America in multiple ways. Their economy was severely damaged and they lost many lives. There was also a huge shift in opinion of being against war as this was the first major war America had ever lost. This can show us in the future that war shouldn't be looked at as a good outcome, or as a guaranteed win against smaller nations.

2. ***Economics:*** How has economics impacted America & Americans?

2.1. WW1 helped make more jobs

2.2. Cold War- When countries change their for of government the world economics can change

3. ***Migration*** What causes migration and how has it impacted America?

3.1. WW2- Many Jewish people wanted to leave Germany but other countries didn't step in early enough to prevent it

3.2. Vietnam War

3.2.1. Many men decided it'd be better for them to leave the country than risk being drafted to go die in Korea. 30,000 men fled to Canada and 20,000 men decided to desert the army instead of fighting. This could be better resolved in the future by offering people incentives to join the military in times of needing more troops instead of using a draft that could ruin some people's future.

4. ***Leaders & Presidents*** What makes an effective or ineffective leader?

4.1. When more powerful leaders work together + causes them to have a greater chance of winning which forces other countries to join the war

4.2. Radical leaders are more likely to be discovered and supported due to the problems and precautions that are being taken to protect their country

4.3. A powerful leader like Hitler is willing to fight to the end

4.4. Vietnam War

4.4.1. Nixon- Came into office towards the end of Vietnam and his first job was to get Americans out of Vietnam. He had a plan ready called Vietnamization where he would pull out the U.S. troops over time and replace them with South Vietnamese troops. However, this backfired on him because when he tried attacking communist bases in Cambodia to help the South Vietnamese, the public saw this as making the war even larger and they were furious. This can show future presidents or leaders that in times of serious worry, you need to focus on ending the tension. Ultimately, the people of your country come first.

5. ***Government:*** What is the role and responsibility of the American government?

5.1. WW2- Many thought the US would be the best place to go, but America was hesitant to allow everything occuring into their country, so Jewish people were stuck

5.2. Cold War- The US had to control communism to keep the world in balance because a change in government brings changes in trading

5.3. Vietnam War

5.3.1. Throughout the Vietnam war the American citizens were lied to by the government about various things such as the extent of the war, Rolling Thunder, effects of Agent Orange, and more. This created tension and many Americans lost the trust they had in their government. In the future the government shouldn't lie to its people, especially not this much in a war most Americans no longer wanted.

7.3. 1920s

7.4. Vietnam War

7.4.1. Napalm and Agent Orange- Types of bombs used by America to kill off/burn vegetation to remove the enemy cover. However, as these both could spread very quickly many Vietnamese civilians would die from this because they would literally burn your skin off. We can learn from this that weapons that can spread through the air are very dangerous and should only be used as a last resort because of the high chance to kill civilians.

8. ***Media*** To what extent does the media influence people? To what extent does the media mirror or reflect society?

8.1. Advertisements were on the rise to help sell things in the 1920s

8.2. Red Scare- McCarthy realized the power of tv's to create fear and gain reelection
