10. Aims: The Technologies Curriculum is divided into two subjects: Design and Technology and Digital Technologies. The overarching aim for both of these subjects are to ensure that all students develop knowledge and understanding individually and as a team. To ensure students develop these skills, they need to be guided through the process of: Investigating , designing, managing and be able to evaluate solutions. The Technologies Curriculum also assists students in understanding traditional and contemporary technologies, how technologies impacts on society and the ethical responsibility of this.

Student Diversity: Throughout the entire Australian and Western Australian Curriculum all students are entitled to the proper and relevant learning programs no matter their race, disability or language barrier. The learning needs of gifted and talented students are also assisted by providing opportunities for learning content to be in greater depth. This encourages a higher level of creative thinking.

12. Cross-curriculum priorities: Priority is given to all students to assist in the understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures by engaging students with learning contexts that explore Technologies in the past, present and future. The Technologies Curriculum priority with Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia is implemented by providing varied and relevant contexts to support the diverse environments of the Asian region. Supporting students by providing knowledge and understanding of how to be creative with solutions, working with others and how technologies used in a sustainable way for the modern world.

13. General capabilities: In order for students to be successful with their education, life and work in the modern society, they will be guided through by using their knowledge, skills, behavior and dispositions through six areas of general capabilities: Literacy, Numeracy, Information and communication technology, Critical and Creative thinking, Personal and social capacity, Ethical understanding, Intercultural understanding. Opportunities can be provided and incorporated into learning programs for Technologies and assessed accordingly.
